Belk charged with criminal homicide in Floyd’s death

Johnathan Belk, 41, of Dunlap has been charged with criminal homicide in the stabbing death of 18-year-old, Billy Jean Floyd, of Jasper, according to Sheriff Bill Phillips with the Sequatchie County Sheriff’s Department.

The incident occurred on March 8 when Belk returned home from a trip to find Floyd at his residence with his wife, Jada Gholston, 31, explained the Sheriff. Investigators believe Belk attacked Floyd and Gholston, injuring both and causing the death of Floyd.

Belk is being held at the Sequatchie County Jail, charged with criminal homicide, said Sheriff Phillips, and other charges are expected.
