An unoccupied mobile home in the Lone Oak community on Signal Mountain was destroyed when a brush fire spread on March 6, though quick firefighter response prevented the fire from spreading further. The Lone Oak Volunteer Fire Department responded to a structure fire at approximately 5:00 p.m.
Fire suppression operations began with multiple engines and tankers, including response from Walden Ridge Emergency Services in mutual aid. The firefighters’ efforts prevented further spread into nearby brush and a wooded area. No injuries were reported.
Lone Oak members expressed appreciation to the Walden department and to the Sequatchie County Sheriff’s Office, on scene assisting with safety.
