Proposed “peanut” roundabout and bridge construction discussed

Dozens of residents heard further details on the Rankin Avenue road project scheduled to take place in coming years, with a “peanut” roundabout and bridge expansion among the specifics. The Tennessee Department of Transportation hosted the information meeting at Sequatchie County High School on October 23.

Michael O’Donnell, director of Project Management for TDOT Region 2, explained federal grant money obtained by the City of Dunlap led to the project.

“The City applied for a federal RAISE grant and received $15 million, with a five percent match ($750,000),” O’Donnell said.
