Wanda M. Farrow, 76, passed away Saturday night, April 4, receiving fatal injuries in a single vehicle crash, the Tennessee Highway Patrol (THP) reported.
Farrow was traveling south on Henson Gap Road on Lewis Chapel Mountain, the report states, when her 2023 Chevrolet Blazer traveled off the right side of the road and struck an embankment. The vehicle hit a tree and overturned, the report concluded. The driver was traveling with no passengers.
Dunlap Fire Department (DFD) Chief Norman Hatfield said emergency personnel responded at 9:23 p.m.
“Sequatchie County Sheriff’s deputies found a vehicle on its top with the driver unresponsive and pinned in the wreckage,” Chief Hatfield explained. “Firefighters used the Hurst eDRAULIC tools to free the driver, who did not survive.”
Those responding to the scene included members of the DFD, Sequatchie County Sheriff’s Department, and THP, which is leading the investigation.
