Southend Volunteer Fire Department responded to Nunley Road, off Daus Mountain Road, for a large brush fire on March 14 at approximately 2:30 p.m. The Tennessee Forestry Department was called in as well. Crews were on the scene for several hours, Southend’s Chief Ken Herron reported.
