Wanda June Henry
Wanda June Henry, 91, of Dunlap, Tennessee died September 18, 2025, at Valley View Assisted Living.
She was a long-time member of Dunlap First Baptist Church.
She married Charles Henry in October, 1953, in Atlanta, Georgia and she moved to Brownsville, Texas where he served in the United States Coast Guard. They relocated back to Dunlap after Charles’ military service was fulfilled. She was a homemaker and was employed with Sequatchie General Hospital and home health care for a number of years. She retired along with her husband Charles to dedicate time to Christian mission travels sharing the Good News of Jesus Christ through service, both domestically and abroad.
She was a dedicated mother and grandmother who enjoyed family time. She was immensely proud of her family and leaves behind great memories of a life well spent. Her service to Dunlap First Baptist Church over the years was invaluable. She served in Vacation Bible School, the church choir and was the Women’s Missionary Union director for many years. Along with her husband of 54 years, Charles, they together served, showing the light of Christ to a world in need of housing, biblical teaching and love. Her legacy was her service to Christian missions and her family.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Perus Alden Sr. and Mary Blanche Green; husband, Charles Henry; grandchild, Matt Henry; siblings, Howard Greene, Robert Greene, Bruce Greene, Jessie Floyd Greene, Grace Frassrand, Elizabeth Lynn, Berta Ruth Long, P.A. Green Jr., Johnnie Sue Morgan and Joe Dillon Green.
She is survived by three children: Diane Henry, of Dunlap; Ronnie (Kathy) Henry, of Dunlap; and Mark (Beverly) Henry, of Dunlap. She is also survived by grandchildren: Jennifer (Nick) Cunningham of Dunlap, Jeria (Mike) Fults of Dunlap, Charles (Jenna) Henry of Dunlap, Katie (Kyle) Bateman of Dunlap, Jordan Henry of Knoxville, Abbie (Jackson) Fleming of Athens, Eli Henry of Dunlap, 12 great-grandchildren, 3 great-great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were held Tuesday, September 23 at 4:00 p.m. CDT in the funeral home chapel with Pastor Josh Coffman officiating. Burial followed at Rankin Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Dunlap First Baptist Church, Sequatchie County Cancer Support Network and The Fuller Center for Housing. Visitation was held on Monday, September 22, from 4-8 p.m. and Tuesday 2:00-4:00 p.m. CDT
