Teacher charged with assaulting student fired
A Griffith Elementary School teacher was fired and arrested following events taking place in a classroom, according to school officials and law enforcement. Charged with assault was 54-year-old Holly Condra.
An affidavit prepared by the Sequatchie County Sheriff’s Department stated a detective responded to the school on August 19, for a call of an assault on a student.

While I am very sympathetic to the challenges facing our teachers today, putting your hands on a child in anger with the intent to harm them is never acceptable. I had a teacher at Lone Oak elementary improperly spank me when she was angry, and I should have told on her then. I didn’t tell on her because I knew that my parents would have dragged her outside and harmed her badly. As an adult, I sometimes would still like an apology, and feel the need to expose her name to the public. She punished me for speaking in a general assembly during her class play. She knows what she done because she even had another teacher witness the incident and I could see horror in the other teachers face.
