Memorial Day: remembering those who gave their all, Swanger among the fallen

On Monday, May 26, Memorial Day will be observed in Sequatchie County at the county courthouse. The event at 10:00 a.m. is presented by the American Legion Post 190 and Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 5772, honoring those who have given their lives in service of their country.

Veteran Johnny Cordell shares the story of one of those veterans, 22-year-old J.C. Swanger from Dunlap who died in service 81 years ago:
