Dessie Wilma Skyles Green

Dessie Wilma Skyles Green, 93, of Dunlap, Tennessee passed away Saturday, September 7, 2024.

She was a faithful member of Hall church of Christ for over 70 years. She was affectionately known as Nanny to everyone she knew. She was a great cook, always wanted to give to others and had a very considerate heart as she never wanted to hurt anyone’s feelings. She liked to brag that she closed down two factories in Dunlap with her hard work ethic.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Dee and Julia Hatfield Skyles; husband, Cecil Green; son, Charles Ray Green; and siblings, Eddie Mae Newman, Cyretha Harvey, Clyde Skyles, Willie Skyles, Harold Skyles and Grover Skyles.

She is survived by her children, Julia (Harley) Boyd, Charlotte (Randall) Cagle and Ralph (Karen) Green; sister, Eva (Herman) James; brother, Ray Skyles; five grandchildren, Kevin Boyd, Victoria Boyd, Matthew (Audrey) Cagle, John (Tracey) Cagle and Justin (Rolanda) Green; seven great grandchildren, Vivian (Aaron) Hurley, Jack Cagle, Emma Cagle, Cali Green, Cana Green, Samantha Boyd and Rachel Boyd; three great-great grandchildren, Luke, Layne and Lyla Hurley; along with several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services were held Wednesday, September 11 in the funeral home chapel with Bro. Sheldon Barker officiating. Burial followed in Chapel Hill Cemetery.
