Linda Ewton

Linda Cline Ewton, age 68, of Dunlap, passed away Thursday September 1, 2016 at Erlanger North in Chattanooga.  

Linda was a life-long educator. She taught high school English for over 20 years at Sequatchie County High School. She was also fortunate enough to have taught in Australia and Venezuela. Linda ended her teaching career as assistant principal at SCHS in 2002. She worked tireless to help her students during her tenure at the high school and was well respected by her colleagues and students.

She was a frequent world traveler and visited over 11 foreign countries, including China, Russia, Germany and others too numerous to name.  

She was a member of Dunlap First Baptist Church.

She was preceded in death by her father, Austin Conway Cline; mother, Mary Avo Cline; and siblings, Betty Ducker, Martha Ann Shipley, and Joe Cline.

She is survived by her husband, Johnny F. Ewton; stepchildren, Pamela Ewton Baker (Bob) and Frankie Ewton (Anita); grandchildren, Josh Turner, Tre’ Ewton, and Destin Ewton;  siblings, Patsy Goodman (Greg) and Stanley Cline; and many nieces, nephews, and friends.

Funeral services were held  in the funeral home chapel on Sunday, September 4 at with Bro. Fred Steelman and Bro. Wayne Lowery officiating. Burial followed at Pope Cemetery. 

Pallbearers were Grady Bryan Ewton, Tre’ Ewton, Destin Ewton, Josh Turner, Gary Vial, and John Wellbaum.
