Leon Tate

Dorwin Leon Tate, 78, of Dunlap passed away Sunday, March 29, 2015, at his home.

He was born March 13, 1937 to the late Hollis Tate and the late Edith Bryant Tate Reese.

He was a member of the Dunlap United Methodist Church and a member of the Dunlap #693 F & AM Masonic Lodge. He retired from DuPont after 32 years.

He was preceded in death by his daughter-in-law, Lesa Tate.

Mr. Tate is survived by his wife of 59 years, Ruth E. Graham Tate; children, Tena (Dennis) Bandy, Randy Tate and Ronnie (Kellie) Tate; grandchildren, Lindsey (Chris) Dalton, Sara (Jonathan) Boyd, Josh Bandy, Emily Tate, Graham, Mason and Maddie Tate; great-grandchildren, Jade and Ava Dalton; siblings, Gail (Billy Wayne) Rogers, Diane (Sammy) Mounce, Connie (Phillip) Roberson and Wayne (Linda) Resse; and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be conducted from the funeral home chapel at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, April 2, with Rev. Kirk McKee and Bro. Howard Hatcher officiating.

Entombment will follow in Bryant Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 2:00 until 8:00 p.m., Wednesday, April 1.
