She was born in Dunlap at a house that was built by her daddy’s own hands. They were farmers, that would explain the green thumb. She loved to work in her flowers and she loved birds, especially blue birds and humming birds. She worked at Markum’s Stone in Dunlap, Atlas Paper in Chattanooga, Spartan Industries and was retired from Sequatchie Farmers Co-op for 25 years.

She was the third generation to belong to Chapel Hill United Methodist Church were she was a member for over 50 years. She was married to Milton for 55 years and loved taking care of her grandson.

Growing up during the depression was hard because she had to walk, ride a mule or a row boat just to get to school.

Funeral services were held Wednesday, March 27 in the Ewton Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Tom Tucker officiating.

Burial was in Chapel Hill Cemetery.

An online guestbook is at www.ewtonfuneralhome.com.

Ewton Funeral Home of Dunlap was in charge of arrangements.
