Marea Hixson Barker

Marea Hixson Barker, 88, of Dunlap died Saturday, September 1, 2012. She was born March 29, 1924 in Bledsoe County and was a member of Chapel Hill United Methodist Church.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Grady Barker; parents, Ed and Ova Hughes Hixson; and brother, Ruben Hixson.

Survivors include two sons, Hugh Barker and Edward (Lana) Barker, both of Dunlap; two grandchildren, Karla (Shane) McDonough and Michael (Laura) Barker; five great-grandchildren, Bradley and Jessica McDonough, Ashley, Catlin and Mia Barker, all of Dunlap; sister, Marilyn Hodge; one niece, Rona Johnson; two great-nieces; and one great-great-niece.

Funeral services were held Monday, September 4 in the funeral home chapel with Bro. Gerald Casson officiating. Burial was in Chapel Hill Cemetery.
