Edith Campbell
Edith Sullivan Campbell, 96, of Dunlap passed away Wednesday, March 7, 2012.
She was a faithful Christian who worshipped with the Bethel Church of Christ. She previously worshipped at Dunlap Church of Christ and Mt. Airy Church of Christ, where her beloved husband served as elder.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Sutton Campbell (March 11, 2001). They would have celebrated their 77th wedding anniversary on March 3, 2012. Also, her parents, Fred L. and Lavada Sullivan; sisters, Maudelle Hurst, Blanche Smith and Cora Wilson; and brothers, Clarence and Robert Sullivan.
Survivors include her three precious daughters and sons-in-law, Joan (Preston) Weeks of Dunedin, Florida, and Anita (Glenn) Cookston and Lynda (Burl Sr.) Johnson, both of Dunlap; 10 cherished grandchildren, Todd Weeks, Sherri Ferstl, Burl Johnson Jr., Dr. Kimberly Johnson, Karen Godwin, Brenda Walters, Glenda Higgenbottom, Beth Pegg, Lacey Stephens and Stephen Cookston; 19 great-grandchildren; sister, Flo Ann Pierce of East Ridge and a host of nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were held Saturday, March 10 in the funeral home chapel with her son-in-law, Preston Weeks, and ministers and dear friends, T.A. Smith and Rubel Clayton, officiating.
Burial was in Johnson-Lewis Cemetery.
Serving as pallbearers were Gary Hurst (nephew), Ronald Triplett (dear friend), Burl Johnson Jr. (eldest grandson), Richard Godwin, Jeremy Stephens and Chris Pegg (grandsons).
