James E. Mears, Sr

James E. Mears, Sr., 74, of Pikeville died Saturday, February 4, 2012. He was a member of Bethel Church of Christ.

His son, Rufus Mears, preceded him in death.

Survivors include his wife of 52-1/2 years, Joyce Mears; son, Eddie (Donna) Mears of Pikeville; grandchildren, Johnathan and Justin Mears, Shandi Edge and Matthew Brown; two great-granddaughters, Sierra Lynn Mears and Kayedence Edge; three sisters, Floella (Don) Harvey, Cassie Creasman and Imogene (Ed) Hughes, all of Pikeville; two brothers, Ollie (Monique) Mears of Dayton and Bernard (Ann) Mears of Pikeville; several nieces, nephews and cousins.

Services were held Tuesday, February 7 in the funeral home chapel with Bro. T.A. Smith, Bro. Bobby Collier and Bro. Bradley  Hargis officiating. Burial was in Worthington Cemetery.
