Anna Hixson Beavert, 86, died Thursday, October 20, 2011.
She was a lifelong resident of Bledsoe County, a charter member of Mt. Airy Baptist Church and has also been a member of Stephen’s Chapel Methodist and Ebenezer Baptist Church. She was a retired schoolteacher, having taught over 20 years in Bledsoe and Sequatchie counties.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 55 years, Thomas A. Beavert; parents, P.S. and Mamie Anderson Hixson; sister, Louise Hixson; brother, Eugene Hixson; two special brothers-in-law, Howard and Frank Beavert.
She is survived by a daughter, Carol Beavert (Earl) Eames; and son, Philip (Alta) Beavert, both of Pikeville; two grandsons, Jeremy (Kimberly) Eames and Jason (Lindsay) Eames, both of Soddy Daisy; four great-grandchildren, Ella, Erin, Noah and Rileigh Eames; several nieces and one nephew; sister, Carolyn (Walter) Burton and special sister-in-law, Jewell Beavert.
Funeral services were held Monday, October 24 in the funeral home chapel with Rev. Virgil Powell and Rev. Bill Cross officiating. Burial was in Pope Cemetery.
