Mack McDowell

Greer Arion  “Mack” McDowell of North Carolina passed away Sunday, August 7, 2011 at CMC-NorthEast Medical Center.

He was born March 28, 1932 in Dunlap to the late Sam and Ethel Matthews McDowell. He was in the wholesale automobile business and was a veteran serving in the US Army 82nd Airborne Division. 

He is survived by his wife, Shirley Jackson McDowell; daughter, Cecilia McDowell of Concord; son, Michael McDowell of Pembroke, North Carolina; sisters, Flossie Narramore and Claudia Tate both of Dunlap; brothers, Thomas McDowell of Dunlap, and A.J. McDowell of Eastover, South Carolina; grandchildren, Amber McDowell and Aaron McDowell and wife Shandra; great-grandchildren, Lauren and Cody McDowell; and mother-in-law, Bea Jackson. 

His funeral was August 10 at the funeral home chapel officiated by Rev. Steve Pennington.
