COVID-19 testing hours changing

Starting on Monday, January 25, the Sequatchie County Health Department is changing COVID-19 testing hours at Ewtonville Baptist Church to 8:30-10:30 a.m. Amanda Goodhard, Assessment and Planning Coordinator for the Tennessee Department of Health’s Southeast Regional Office, said the change allows testing to continue Monday-Friday while giving staff more time to focus on vaccinations.

Students excel in state animal science exam

Three seniors at Sequatchie County High School surpassed requirements on a state examination in Animal Science, announced SCHS teacher Tammie Akin. Brianna Rogers, Sidney Springer, and Anna Kate Tibbs passed a Tennessee Specific Industry Certification (TSIC) exam on their first attempts, a rare achievement which earned them postsecondary credit, Akin explained. Tree trimmer seriously injured, rescued

One of two men cutting a tree on Smith Mountain was seriously injured on Sunday, January 17, and was transported by Lifeforce helicopter to Erlanger Medical Center in Chattanooga, reported Dunlap Fire Department (DFD) Chief Norman Hatfield.
