A 50-year-old Georgia man faces drug charges following a disturbance at a home, Dunlap Police Department Chief Randy Phillips reported. Taken into custody was Ronald Lee Diorio of Gainesville, Georgia.
Early on April 20, Dunlap officers arrived at an Old Union Road residence due to unwanted, intoxicated individuals, Chief Phillips stated.
“Once officers arrived, they made contact with three individuals inside a vehicle parked in the driveway,” Chief Phillips stated. “During the investigation, officers found approximately 1.52 ounces of meth and drug paraphernalia inside the vehicle.”
Dioiro was arrested at the scene, the Chief added.
On April 21, a search warrant was executed on a 2010 Mini Cooper that had been impounded, an affidavit from the City Police Department stated. A suitcase in the vehicle, digital scales and a box of unused plastic bags were reportedly found. In a locked glove box, a tan envelope contained a black envelope, and in that envelope a plastic bag reportedly contained approximately 57.30 grams (about two ounces) of a white crystal substance believed to be meth.
The vehicle was registered to Diorio and he was the last occupant of the vehicle prior to being arrested the previous day, the affidavit continued.
Diorio’s charges included two counts of felony possession of a Schedule II Controlled Substance for resale and unlawful possession of drug paraphernalia. Bond for the defendant was denied during an April 23 hearing.
