Ellis Ethbert Grant

Ellis Ethbert Grant, 78, of Lewis Chapel Mountain, passed away Friday, November 7, 2025 at his home.

He was of the Church of God faith, loving husband, daddy, papaw, and brother.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Murphy and Bessie Grant; brothers, Darvin and Leon Grant; and son-in-law, Bobby Stewart.

He is survived by his loving wife of 59 years, Martha Grant; three daughters, Tonja (Mike) Bennett; Shonda (Von) Dishman, both of Soddy Daisy, and Veronica Stewart, of Sweetwater; grandchildren, Amanda Bennett, Justin (Kayla) Cooley, Brittany Cooley, and Tasha Bennett; great-grandchildren, Ella Cooley, Ariyah Bennett, and Naomi Cooley; sisters, Ester Lee and Audrey Grant; brother, Gene Grant; several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services were held Tuesday, November 11 in the funeral home chapel with Pastor Jeff Smith officiating.

Burial was in Varner-Grant Cemetery.

Nephews, Raymond Smith, Marty Grant, Randy Grant, David Lee, Jason and Daniel Stephenson served as pallbearers.
