    BBQ supper at basketball game

    The Sequatchie County High School Rebound Club is having its 2nd annual BBQ supper on Friday, January 11 from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. in the high school cafeteria. They will be serving before the Sequatchie vs. Bledsoe basketball game. Plates are $10 each and all proceeds go to the rebound club. BBQ is provided by Citizens Tri-County Bank.

    Mammography screenings planned

    CHI Memorial’s mobile health coach will provide mammography screenings at Healthforce Primary Care Clinic in Dunlap on Wednesday, January 16 from 8:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Those with insurance should bring their insurance card and a photo ID, such as a driver’s license for their insurance to be filed. Anyone not having insurance may qualify for financial assistance. If an abnormality is discovered, the diagnostic work-up is covered and a financial plan is provided for any follow-up care.     Baseball, softball, teeball signups

    The Sequatchie County Youth Association will be conducting baseball, softball, and teeball signups on Saturday, January 19, 26 and February 2 at the high school in the commons area. Also, new this year, players can register and pay online at sequatchiecoyouth.org until February 18 at 5:00 p.m. Fees are the same as last year – baseball and softball are $75 for the first child, with a discount for additional child in same immediate family.     ABWA offering grant

       The Dunlap Charter Chapter of American Business Women’s Association is offering the Stephen Bufton Memorial Education Grant to a female student at the junior level or above with a GPA of 3.0 or above at an accredited college or university in the United States. The maximum amount is $2,000.00 and is for one year only but applicants can re-apply. Funds are to be used for tuition, books or fees.       The Dunlap Charter Chapter of American Business Women’s Association has scholarship applications available at the following locations in Dunlap: Chamber of Commerce, SCHS or central education office, Mountain Valley Bank (Hwy. 28 branch and main office), Citizens Tri-County Bank (main office), First Farmers and Commercial Bank, and Citizens State Bank. Any woman in Sequatchie County or nearby surrounding area who is a U.S. citizen and has a high school diploma or equivalent wishing to further her education is eligible to apply. (Must have completed or be completing 12th grade). Applications must be turned in to one of these locations by April 8, 2019 or mailed to Shirley B.
