Descendants of Ease and Eliza Hankins will be having their Christmas dinner on Saturday, December 2 at the Lusk Community Center around 1:00 p.m. Everyone is asked to bring a covered dish.

The Sequatchie County Youth Association will be holding a meeting on Monday, December 4 at Sequatchie County Farm Bureau at 6:00 p.m. Items to be discussed at this meeting will be current business. The Sequatchie County UT Extension and Family and Community Education members are sponsoring an interactive presentation of Ghost in the Mansion at the Falcon Rest in McMinnville on Tuesday, December 12. The Southeast Tennessee Human Resource Agency will be distributing USDA commodities to eligible Sequatchie County residents on Friday, December 15, 2017 from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. at the SETHRA office in Dunlap. You must have a card to receive commodities on this day. You can call the office at 949-2191 to make an appointment to get a card until Wednesday, December 6, 2017. You must provide proof of income for all household members or proof of category eligibility to get your commodity card. Eligibility will be based on total household income not in excess of the State-established maximum percentage of the poverty line for the appropriate household size or category eligibility.
