    Art and the Library starts May 2

    The Sequatchie County Friends of the Library invite everyone to Art & the Library, an art exhibition featuring local and regional artists. The show opens May 2, 6:00 to 8:00 p.m., at the Dunlap City Training Center with a reception, serving light refreshments. The show will be open May 3 from 10:00 a.m. until 2:00 p.m., May 4 from 9:00 a.m. to 8:30 p.m., and May 5 from noon to 4:00 p.m. The reception and show are free. Although the show is part of Valley Fest, a Valley Fest wristband or entry ticket is not required to visit the art show. BT17-18S18

    National Day of Prayer May 2

    Ewtonville Baptist Church will be observing the National Day of Prayer, Thursday, May 2. Prayer time in the sanctuary will begin at 11:00 a.m., followed by lunch in the Family Life Center.     Quilt giveaway at art show

    A handmade quilt will be given away at the Art and the Library art exhibition that takes place during Valley Fest each year at the City Hall Training Center. Admission to the art show is free, but tickets for the quilt can purchased for $1 each, six for $5 or 25 for $20. Winner need not be present to win. The quilt, designed and created by Holly Scroggin, People’s Choice winner at last year’s Sequatchie County Quilt Show, is 81 inches by 92 inches with a design of books on a shelf. T17-18S18
