Food preservation classes scheduled

The Summer Saturday Series of Food Preservation classes, offered by the UT Extension Service, will be held Saturdays, August 25 and September 15, at Sequachee Valley Electric from 9:00 a.m. until noon. Participants in the August class will learn about jams and pickling. Cost is $20. This is a hands-on class and participants will go home with a jar of strawberry-kiwi jam and a jar of sweet pickles. The September class is on gifting items (apple relish and infused vinegars). Registration deadline is August 22. Contact the UT Extension office at 949-2611 for further information. T32S33
