Extension Service has food preservation classes

Food Preservation classes are being offered by the UT Extension Service for the spring and summer Saturday series beginning June 17. Cost for the class is $20. This is a hands-on class and participants will go home with a finished product each session. Remaining classes include:

•June 17, 2017 – Pressure Canning (green beans)

•July 15, 2017 – Jams & Jellies & Pickling

•September 2, 2017 – Gifting Items (apple relish and infused vinegars)

Classes will be held at Chapel Hill United Methodist Church from 9:00 a.m. until noon. UT Extension provides equal opportunities in programs and employment. Registration deadline is June 15 for the first class. Contact the UT Extension office at 949-2611 for further information.
