  • Lions Club sponsoring golf tournament

    The Dunlap Lions Club is sponsoring its second annual Wayne Reynolds Memorial Golf Tournament on Saturday, June 1 at Mt. Airy Golf Course in Dunlap. Registration begins at 7:00 a.m., with shotgun tee time at 8:00 a.m. Entry fee is $300 for each 4-person team and includes greens fees, lunch, a goody bag and golf cart. Entry fees can be turned in to Jakey Cooley at First Famers and Commercial Bank, 16893 Rankin Avenue in Dunlap or mailed to Kim Harmon at P.O. Box 445, Dunlap, TN 37327.   • Community Band meets Thursdays

    Sequatchie Valley Community Band practice is held the third Thursday of each month at 6:30 p.m. in the middle school band room. This is a concert band and open to anyone in the valley or surrounding area who plays a wind or percussion instrument. All experience levels are welcome.     The Dunlap Lions Club will host a family and friends trivia night at Pizza King on June 18 at 6:00 p.m. Players can win cash prizes and bragging rights. Teams will consist of 3-6 players; individuals and couples without a team will be placed on one. Tickets are $5 per player and include games, tea and soft drinks.   • 18:28 Ministry event planned

       The 18:28 Ministry and Ewtonville Baptist Church will be holding a summer ice cream social on Sunday, June 30 at the church’s gym. The social will begin at 5:00 p.m., followed by a concert at 6:00 p.m. The 18:28 ministry is a local youth performance group consisting of girls from different churches who perform to Christian music in the dark using black lights to highlight hand and prop movements. The ministry is named after Psalm 18:28. Everyone is invited. T26
