Mechanic charged with theft of transmission

Dunlap mechanic and business owner Richard E. Binney, 58, was charged with theft May 3 following an investigation by local authorities. Binney, owner of Richard’s Service Center on Rankin Avenue, reportedly failed to replace a transmission after a vehicle was brought in for service.     American Legion Post 190, Dunlap, holds its monthly meetings on the last Tuesday of each month at the Legion Hall on Fredonia Road. The executive committee meets at 5:00 p.m. and the general business meeting starts at 6:00 p.m. All members are encouraged to attend.
