    First Baptist Church celebrates 150 Years

       On Sunday, July 1, First Baptist Church of Dunlap will celebrate its 150th anniversary with homecoming services. Beginning with early worship at 8:15 a.m., the program will continue with Sunday School at 9:15 a.m., followed by worship and homecoming at 10:00 a.m. Guest speaker for the 10:00 a.m. service is former pastor, Bro. Tom Gholson. A fellowship meal will be enjoyed at 11:45 a.m. The afternoon program will include a homecoming orchestra, homecoming choir, member remembrance video and individual music, ending with prayer at 2:00 p.m. All members, former members, friends and family are invited to attend.

    Fredonia community preparing for forum

    The Fredonia Mountain Community Center is sponsoring a candidate forum for Sequatchie County candidates to be held on the following dates: July 10, candidates for sheriff; July 17, road superintendent candidates; and July 24, candidates for county executive, circuit court clerk and trustee. All times are 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. The public is invited to attend these forums and meet the candidates. The community center is located at 5242 Fredonia Road in Dunlap.

    Hee-Haw shows set

         The Sequatchie County Cancer Support Network will be presenting its annual Hee Haw Show on July 12-14 at 7:00 p.m. in the high school auditorium. Cost for admittance is $10 at the door or tickets can be purchased before the event at Citizens Tri-County Bank, Mountain Valley Bank, Chamber of Commerce, Bouffant Beauty Salon and Sew Sweet.
