Mechanic charged with theft of transmission

Dunlap mechanic and business owner Richard E. Binney, 58, was charged with theft May 3 following an investigation by local authorities. Binney, owner of Richard’s Service Center on Rankin Avenue, reportedly failed to replace a transmission after a vehicle was brought in for service.     SCMS to hold Veterans Day program

    All day

    The Sequatchie County Middle School Veterans Day program will be held Friday, November 9 at 8:15 a.m. in the school gym. There will be special music and readings by students and will feature Veterans Day speaker Johnny Cordell. The student body will also make a presentation to the Veterans Memorial Park.  The community is invited to attend. TS45

    Community yoga for food bank

    All day

    A community yoga class is continuing at Dunlap United Methodist Church. Remaining classes are November 9 and December 7 from 4:45 to 6:00 p.m. The cost is a cash donation or food items for the Dunlap Food Bank. Specific items needed for the food bank include peanut butter, and one-pound bags of rice and dry pinto beans. The food bank cannot accept expired food items. T44S45

    Mistletoe Market planned for Nov. 9-11

    The Sequatchie County Rescue Squad will hold its first Stop and Shop Mistletoe Market, November 9-11. Times are Friday from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m., Saturday from 8:00 a.m. until 8:00 p.m. and Sunday from 10:00 a.m. until 5:00 p.m. There will be crafts, concessions and goodies. Vendors are needed.
