FFA Marketing Team heading to nationals

    A Bible Prophecy conference with Dr. Jimmy DeYoung is planned for March 19-21 at Way of the Cross Baptist Church. DeYoung is a prophecy teacher and journalist who travels the country and the world educating the Body of Christ of the future events foretold in God’s prophetic Word. Services times are Sunday at 10:00 a.m. and 6:00 p.m., and Monday and Tuesday nights at 6:30. The church is located at 444 Fredonia Road in Dunlap.     Diabetes seminar at Brayton SDA is planned

    On Sunday, March 19 and 26, from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m., the Brayton Seventh-day Adventist Church will be holding a Reversing Diabetes seminar at the Brayton-Hendon Community Center. Healthcare professionals will be present to measure blood sugar levels and blood pressure levels among other services. There is a $25 fee for instruction materials (assistance is available). This seminar will be followed by a series of meetings on preventive healthcare to be announced at a later date and will be free of charge.     Cherokee Eastern Star to install 2017 officers

    Cherokee Chapter 301 Order of the Eastern Star will have their regular stated monthly meeting on Monday, March 20 at the Dunlap Masonic Lodge Hall on Cherry Street.     Tai Chi classes offered

    On March 20, the Sequatchie County UT Extension will be offering an Arthritis Foundation Tai Chi Program, an 8-week program designed for people with arthritis to reduce pain and stiffness, help maintain or improve mobility, muscle strength, memory, and balance. Individuals of all ages and mobility levels can benefit from the low-impact course. Classes will be held every Monday at 4:30 p.m. for one hour. The cost of the course is $48.00.

    VFW meets on third Tuesday of each month

    VFW Post 5772, Dunlap, holds its monthly meetings on the third Tuesday of each month. The executive committee meets at 5:00 p.m. and the general business meeting begins at 6:00. Meetings are held in the Legion Hall on Fredonia Road. All members are encouraged to attend. Any veteran interested in joining the VFW or learning more about the organization and the benefits of membership, is encouraged to attend a general business meeting. T11S11

    Driver’s services for veterans at VA on Mar. 22

    The Highway for Heroes for all driver’s licenses will be at the VA office in Dunlap on Wednesday, March 22 from 10:00 a.m. until 2:00 p.m. Services include driver’s license renewals and state identification cards, adding veteran code to driver’s license or identification card with valid DD214 (duplicate fee will apply), providing 360 Letters for Reinstatement information, and CDL’s.
