    FCE will be discussing food waste in February

      Sequatchie County Family and Community Education (FCE) Clubs will be discussing food waste at their February meetings. FCE is an organization  of volunteers who work together to build strong families and communities. Educational materials are created and utilized to strengthen knowledge and skills. Resources are provided to develop leadership skills, enabling people to make a difference. February meetings are: UT Extension office at 4:30 p.m. on February 2; Chapel Hill UMC at 1:00 p.m. on February 14; Cagle Community Center at 11:00 a.m. on February 16; and Lone Oak Community Center at noon EST on February 27.

    Fiber Art Exhibit featured at MACC in February

    A Fiber Art Exhibit, featuring the works of local Signal Mountain residents, will be on display in Gallery 5 at the Mountain Arts Community Center (MACC) during the month of February. The opening reception will be held on Friday, February 3 from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. at the MACC. This event is open to the public. Those attending the opening can enjoy refreshments, and meet the artists and others who support the art community. Gallery 5 at the MACC is located at 809 Kentucky Avenue on Signal Mountain and is open during regular MACC hours: Monday through Thursday, 9:00 a.m. until 7:00 p.m., and Friday, 9:00 a.m. until 4:00 p.m.T5S5

    A benefit for Raymond “Wormy” Lockhart Jr. will be held Saturday, February 4 from 3:00 to 5:00 p.m. at the Cagle Community Center to help with funeral and medical expenses.     Signups for Sequatchie County Youth Baseball and Softball will be held January 28, February 4 and 11 from 9:00 a.m. until noon at the high school. Cost is $75 for first child, with a $10 discount for each additional child.T4S4
