$496,400 grant to fight Dunlap water loss

     The City of Dunlap has received a Community Development Block Grant of $496,400 to assist in upgrades to the city’s water system. Jalyn Schmitt, a 2018 graduate of Sequatchie County High School, will continue her education and softball career at Bryan College. Grants to aid students at SCHS

The Sequatchie County School System will be aided by two large grants, announced last week. Funding of $99,999 from J.P. Morgan Chase is now available for the purchase of state-of-the-art virtual welding equipment. A grant of $34,272 through the Perkins Reserve will be used to start a Mechatronics Engineering program at Sequatchie County High School.…

You must have a card to receive commodities on this day. You can call the office at 949-2191 to make an appointment to get a card until Wednesday, December 6, 2017. You must provide proof of income for all household members or proof of category eligibility to get your commodity card. Eligibility will be based on total household income not in excess of the State-established maximum percentage of the poverty line for the appropriate household size or category eligibility.     The state is in the process of making Sequatchie County Memorial Gardens a community cemetery. This will not take place until late this year. Lot owners need to keep the cemetery looking good through the summer.
