Tree Toppers work to mark Trail of Tears

Signs officially recognizing the Trail of Tears route in Sequatchie County have been placed, with work from several different organizations and departments involved. These signs are in addition to those previously place at the Dunlap Coke Ovens Park.

The Trail of Tears was forced displacement of American Indian tribes which included Cherokee, Muscogee, Seminole, Chickasaw, and Choctaw nations.
