Carolyn Boyd

Carolyn Shirley Richards Boyd, 82, of Dunlap, passed away May 20, 2021 at her home.

Carolyn was a member of First United Methodist Church of Whitwell. She was born in Whitwell and was a 1956 graduate of Whitwell High School and a 1986 graduate of the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga. She was a TVA retiree with 32 years of service. Carolyn had an amazing love of life and people and she embraced both with an adventurous spirit. The world was a brighter place because of her and now she shines in Heaven.

She was preceded in death by her father, Joe Ottis Shirley; and husband, Jack L. Boyd.

   She is survived by her mother, Hazel Shirley, Whitwell; daughter, Jamie Morgan, Dunlap; son-in-law, Michael Morgan, Dunlap; sister, Teresa Ford, Whitwell; brother-in-law, Bill Ford, Whitwell; nephew, Greg Ford, Laura Ford and great-niece, Emma, of Kimball; niece, Julie Phares, Charles Phares and great-niece, Brooke, of Seattle; nephew, Scotty Hudson, and great-niece, Laurel, of Chattanooga.

   Funeral services were held Wednesday, May 26 in the funeral home chapel with Rev. Mike King and Rev. Bill Stuart officiating. Burial was in Chattanooga National Cemetery.
