Tree trimmer seriously injured, rescued

One of two men cutting a tree on Smith Mountain was seriously injured on Sunday, January 17, and was transported by Lifeforce helicopter to Erlanger Medical Center in Chattanooga, reported Dunlap Fire Department (DFD) Chief Norman Hatfield. A rope rescue effort was conducted at the scene to bring the accident victim up the steep bluff.
