Funding issues affect highway department

Revenue shortage affecting gas taxes will likely affect county road projects this year, said Sequatchie County Road Supervisor Eric Higgins.

“The way the economy was shut down, there will be an impact on our funding which is through the gas tax,” Higgins said. “It looks like we will be down 30 to 50 percent.”
