Principal Layne reassigned

After 24 years of leading Sequatchie County High School, long-time educator Tommy Layne is no longer the school’s principal. Sequatchie County Director of Schools Pete Swafford said the decision to reassign Layne to Griffith Elementary School was in the best interest of county schools at this time.

It’s not what’s in the best interest of our school. It’s what’s in the best interest of Mr. Pete Swafford. His decision is one sided and awful. Mr. Layne has done nothing but good for our school and our community. Mr. Layne deserves to finish out his last year before retirement as our high school’s principal.
