Viva Johnson Carlton

Viva L. Johnson Carlton, 88, of Dunlap, passed away Monday, November 7, 2016. She was a member of Dunlap First Baptist Church.

Mrs. Carlton was preceded in death by her husband, Nevin Carlton; parents, Oliver and Almeda Perry Johnson; and brothers, Billy W. Johnson and Johnny Frank Johnson.

Survivors include her daughters, Joann C. Byars of Hillsboro and Neva Beechum of Murfreesboro; sons, Johnny (Rita) Carlton and Jerry (Teresa) Carlton, both of Dunlap; sister, Jacqueline (J.B. Doil) Harvey of Graysville; brothers, Barker (Betty Jo) Johnson, Stan (Willene) Johnson, and James (Patricia) Johnson, all of Dunlap; nine grandchildren, Johnitta, Pay, Nicole, Kyle, Lavon, Lindsey, Josh, Jesse, and Brandon; fifteen great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.

Funeral services were held Wednesday, November 9 in the funeral home chapel with Bro. Darrell Evans officiating. Burial followed in Sequatchie County Memorial Gardens with her grandchildren serving as pallbearers.
