Karin Johnson Brandfast, age 63, of Knoxville, passed away Wednesday, September 14, 2016 surrounded by a loving family.
Born in Dunlap to the late John Clifford and Anna Lee (Crowe) Johnson, she was a graduate of Tyner High School. Karin went on to marry her husband, Dan, of 43 years and begin their adventures together. She was a wonderful homemaker who had a “PHD in M.O.M.” She enjoyed home schooling her children for a part of their education. She was a kind, gentle and inspiring woman who was generous with her time towards others.
She is survived by her husband, Daniel G. Brandfast; daughter, Natalie Williams, both of Knoxville; son, Daniel G. Brandfast, II, Mt. Juliet; grandchildren, Jasmine and Jaylen Williams; brothers, James Carl Johnson “Jim” of Dunlap, Gus Johnson of Knoxville; sisters, Johnie Dodson of Huntsville, Alabama, Connie Layne of Dunlap, Regina Carroll (David) of Maryville and Patricia Cole of Dunlap; several nieces and nephews and many friends.
Services honoring and remembering Karin Brandfast were held at her church, Temple Baptist Church in Knoxville, on Saturday, September 17 with Rev. Charles Lawson and Rev. Willis Shankles officiating. A potluck dinner followed in the church fellowship hall. Burial was in Granny Walker Cemetery in Dunlap.
