Willis Johnson
Willis Johnson, 94, of El Paso, Texas passed away Wednesday, June 8, 2016.
Mr. Johnson was born April 13, 1922. He helped his father on the farm and sawmill. He was a machine operator when called to serve in the Army during WWII, at which time he was awarded The American Theater Ribbon with Three Bronze Stars, The Silver Star Medal and Victory Medal. After service, he ran his own business, and in 1955 he moved to Oregon and started a timber business and later numerous other businesses. First and Foremost he loved God, his family and his country. He was surely one of the greatest generation.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Gladys Ables Johnson; son, Malcolm Johnson; daughter, Peggy Ann Nunn; parents, Gaither H. and Ester Lewis Johnson; brothers, Radis, Buford, Bobbie, and Ernest Johnson; sister, Doris (Wallace) Clements.
Survivors include his daughters, Gail Ogle and Candi Rivera; grandchildren, Wayne Ogle and Tamera Bach; several great grandchildren; nieces and nephews; brothers, Clyde (Ann) Johnson, Dr. Carrol Johnson, Roy (Dean) Johnson, and Ray Johnson; sisters, Alene (Max) Gray, Helen (Henry) Broom, Lois (Roy) Webb, and Alice (Lee) Greer.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday June 18 in the funeral home chapel with Bro. Terry Barker officiating. Burial will follow in Chapel Hill Cemetery with full military honors provided by the Sequatchie Valley Honor Guard.
Visitation is from 10:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. on Saturday before the service.
