Violet Marie Brown

Violet Marie Brown, age 89, of Dunlap, passed away Monday, May 30, 2016 at her son’s home in Cookeville. She was born August 10, 1926. 

She was preceded in death by her husband, David S. Brown; son, Charles R. Brown; father, Bill Higdon; mother, Versa Higdon; brother, Willie Higdon; and sisters, Beulah Mae Neal and Dorris Higdon. 

She is survived by her son, Wayne (Brenda) Brown, Cookeville; daughter, Rena Thacker, Spencer; granddaughters, Kimberly (Michael) Austin and Devin (Johnny) Uselton; grandsons, Clinton Thacker and Jason (Mamie) Brown; great-grandsons, Johnathon Brown and Cody Austin; great-granddaughters, Janna Brown and Kaelyn Austin; brothers, Leslie “Sonny” Higdon, Daus, and Ed (Faye) Higdon, Spencer; sisters, Geneva (George) Henry, Whitwell, Twanda Herron, East Lake, Ohio and Josephine Osterhoust; and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services were held Wednesday, May 1 in the funeral home chapel with Rev. Jerry Merciers and Rev. Brent Upchurch officiating. Burial was in Sequatchie County Memorial Gardens.
