Daniel Vaughn

Mr. Daniel Vaughn, 86, of Rock Island (Midway Community) died Friday, January 29, 2016 at Scott & White University Medical Center in Round Rock, Texas. 

He was born February 27, 1929 in Monterrey, and was a veteran of the U. S. Air Force serving as a firefighter, was a retired employee of General Motors and a member of the United Pentecostal Church International. 

Mr. Vaughn was preceded in death by parents, Bill West and Nancy Ann Phillips Vaughn; wife, Wilma Vaughn; son, Timothy Michael Vaughn; brothers, Cordell Vaughn, Jimmy Vaughn, and Porter Vaughn; and sisters, Cansada Green and Sally Copeland.

Survivors include his children, Nancy (Avery) Youngblood, Barbara (Patrick) O’Neal, Daniel (Lina) Vaughn, Jr., Johnny (Jackie) Vaughn, and Jeffery (Jennifer) Vaughn; brother Billy (Burt) Vaughn; grandchildren Michelle Fielding, Daniel Vaughn III, Athena Zerillo, Brian Vaughn, Johnny Vaughn Jr.,  Brandon Vaughn, Kristina Vaughn, Megan Vaughn, Jeffrey Smith, Steven Smith, Scott Youngblood, Amanda Vaughn, Cody Vaughn, Savannah Vaughn, Candy O’Neal, and Tammy Burks; and 21 great grandchildren.

Funeral services were held Saturday, February 6 in the funeral home chapel with  Bro. Burns and Bro. Testa officiating. Interment followed at Mt. View Cemetery at Hwy 30. Military grave rites were administered by V F W Post 5064 and American Legion Post 173.
