Glendol Ray Raines
Glendol Ray Rains, 65, of Pikeville passed away Tuesday, September 22, 2015 at his home. He had battled cancer for the past two years.
Born April 18, 1950, he attended Lusk Elementary School and Bledsoe County High School. He was a member of Bethel church of Christ, was a mason, a member of Dunlap Lodge #693 F&AM and a founding member of Lusk Volunteer Fire Department.
Glendol had a big heart and helped many people. He loved to work on the farm, be outdoors, and enjoyed hunting and fishing. He was a great husband, father, grandfather and friend to many.
He was preceded in death by his father, Amos Austin Rains; grandparents, Alfred and Maude Rains, Edd and Bessie Walker; and special uncle, Charles Rains.
Left to cherish his memory are his wife of 43 years, Carol Harwood Rains; sons, Chad Austin (Heather) Rains; daughter, Penny (David) Tucker; three grandchildren, Bryce and Bryna Tucker and Justin Layne; two brothers, Johnny and Joel B. (Deanna) Rains; mother, Betty Rains; many aunts, uncles, cousins, extended family members and a host of friends.
Services were held Friday, September 25 in the funeral home chapel with Minister T.A. Smith officiating. Burial was in Collier Cemetery.
