Steven “Chop” Childress, age 43, of Altamont, formerly of Dunlap, passed away Saturday, April 25, 2015 at his home. He was a member of Altamont Baptist Church and a foreman for Dunlap Water System for over 20 years. He was an avid hunter and loved being in the woods.
He was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Kenny and Lucille Smith; paternal grandparents, William and Minnie Ann Childress.
He is survived by his wife, Angela Fults Childress; sons, Jacob Hunter Childress, Garrett Camp, and Levi Camp; father and mother, Luther Gene and Martha Childress; sister, Tracy Smith; two nieces, Raven Smith and Heather Fults; nephew, Tyler Fults; father and mother-in-law, Ruben and Gloriajean Fults of Beersheba Springs; and brother-in-law, Vincent Fults of Beersheba Springs.
Funeral services were held Wednesday in the funeral home chapel with Bro. Micah Roberts officiating. Burial was in Altamont Cemetery.
