Sharon Wilson

    Sharon Dianne Holtcamp Wilson, 67, of Johnson City, formerly of Cookeville, entered into rest, Tuesday, March 31, 2015 at her residence.

    Mrs. Wilson was born in Palmer in Grundy County, a native of  Whitwell and had lived in Cookeville until moving to Johnson City in late 2014.

    She was the daughter of the late Orville Garrett Holtcamp and Beulah Shadrick Holtcamp and was also preceded in death by a sister, Lynda Faye Holtcamp Morrow and two nephews, Justin and Robbie Holtcamp.

    Mrs. Wilson was retired from the Putnam County Board of Education where she served for 30 years as an elementary school librarian at Uffelman and Jere Whitson Elementary Schools.

    She was a member of First Christian Church in Cookeville and worked with the children as a teacher and leader and was a longtime member of the kitchen crew and an active member of the Sonshiners.

    She was a graduate of Whitwell High School and Tennessee Technological University, and an avid University of Tennessee Athletics fan. Her favorite color was orange. She also enjoyed traveling, especially cruises.

    Mrs. Wilson leaves to cherish her memory, her husband of 45 years, Daniel “Danny” Wilson; one daughter, Emily Wilson Reeves and husband, Bryan, Johnson City; the joy of her life, two grandchildren Mason James and Karson Faye Reeves; five brothers, Jimmy Holtcamp and wife, Anna, Kenneth Holtcamp, Ronnie Holtcamp and wife, Peggy, Vernon Holtcamp and wife Darlene and Tommy Holtcamp; one brother-in-law, Dennis Morrow and several nieces and nephews.

 A Celebration of Life service was held Friday, April 3 at First Christian Church in Cookeville with ministers Allen Morris and Hillier Duke officiating.
