Polk Roberson “Stan” Standefer

Polk Roberson “Stan” Standefer, 87, of Asheville, North Carolina, passed away Saturday, February 7, 2015 at his home.

He was the son of the late Dr. Rufus Eddie Standefer and Clara Cleo Roberson Standefer. He was born in 1927 in Sequatchie County.

He was preceded in death by his wife and mother of his children, Dorothy Anne Haskell Standefer; his second wife, Marion Claire Fletcher Standefer.

He is survived by his long-time companion, Ann Hines of Isle of Palms, South Carolina; two sons, Rufus Eddie Standefer II, and wife, Alison Standefer of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania and Alex Haskell Standefer of Asheville, North Carolina; daughter, Dee Ann Standefer Langston, and husband, Doug Lowe of Elizabeth City, North Carolina; seven grandchildren; two great-grandchildren. He will be sorely missed by his family and friends.

Graveside services will be held Sunday, February 15, at 2:00 p.m. at Collier Cemetery.
