Donald K. Herron

Donald K. Herron, 75, of Dunlap died in a Chattanooga hospital on Thursday, March 27, 2014.
    Born May 12, 1938 in Sequatchie County, he graduated in 1957 from Sequatchie County High School and was a member of the church of Christ for 42 years. He retired from Combustion Engineering and was one of the founding members of the Southend Volunteer Fire Department and Daus Community Center.
    He was preceded in death by his parents, John and Hytha Johnson Herron; brothers, Ray Herron, Frank Herron and Charles Herron; sisters, Sue Herron Johnson and Lois Herron Rogers.
    Survivors include his wife, Nancy Phillips Herron of Dunlap; sons, Kevin (Shelley) Herron of Harrison, Ken (Tonya) Herron and Keith (Leah) Herron of Dunlap; grandchildren, Jared, Riley, Jarrett, Sam, Katee, Allee, John Jackson and Carolina; brother, Gene (Janie) Herron of Rising Fawn, Georgia; sisters, Mae (George) Martin and JoAnn (Jerry) Triplett of Dunlap; and several nieces and nephews.
    Funeral services will be held Sunday, March 30 in the funeral home chapel with minister Freddie Clayton officiating. Burial was in Condra Cemetery. Visitation is 2:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Saturday.
