Genevie Johnson Smith

Genevie Johnson Smith, 61, of Hobart, Indiana, formerly of Dunlap, died at her home on Saturday, October 12, 2013. She was a member of Lakeview Baptist Church in Portage.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Walter and Lelies Johnson; brothers, Howard, Marshall, Curtis, Chester and W.K. Johnson; and sisters, Jerlene Johnson, Margie Smith and Marie Mincey.

Survivors include her husband, Henry Smith; three children, Walter Lee Johnson of Georgia, Henry D. Smith Jr. of Dunlap and Tonya (James Musall) Smith of Hobart; four grandchildren, Amanda Johnson, Jerome Smith, Harrison Smith and Madalyn Musall; great-granddaughter, Alexis Rodriguez; brother, Wallace Johnson of Lake Station; four sisters, Nina Jo (James) Alexander of Lake Station, Viola Sutter of New Caney, Texas, Naomi Smith of Graysville, Faye (Chester) Stewart of Dunlap and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services were held Saturday, October 19 at the funeral home chapel with Rev. LeRoy Smith officiating. Burial was in Collier Cemetery.
