Elbert Whittenburg

Elbert Whittenburg, 86, of Fall Creek Falls went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, October 20, 2013 at his residence. He was a member of New Martin Church of God, and was a dedicated musician, retired electrician, Army veteran and wonderful husband, dad and papa. He will be loved and missed by all.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Joe and Ethel Prater  Whittenburg; brothers, Denton, Virden and Lester Whittenburg; sisters, Olus Bayless and Ellen Franck; and nephews, James Randell Medley and Bobby Bayless.

Survivors include his wife of 57 years, Gladys Whittenburg; children, Tim Whittenburg, Diane (Bruce) Hale, all of Fall Creek Falls, Shirley (Ronnie) Oakes of Spencer, MaKayla (Matthew) VanWinkle and Kelsey Whittenburg; grandchildren, Ashleyn and Layla Hale and Arianna VanWinkle; brothers, Clyde and Larry Whittenburg; sisters, Helen Medley and Barbara Whittenburg and several nieces and nephews, all of  Fall Creek Falls.

Funeral services were held Wednesday, October 23 at New Martin Church of God with Pastors Clifford Waters and Andy Smith officiating. Burial was in Myers Cemetery.
