Ila Upchurch McSpadden

Ila Upchurch McSpadden, 90, entered into rest on Tuesday, July 23, 2013 at a local hospital with friends and extended family at her side. She was a resident of the Lewis Chapel Mountain community in Bledsoe County and was a member of Dunlap First Baptist Church and The Upper Room Sunday School Class. She was born on April 6, 1923 in Rosalie, Alabama.

Her husband, John McSpadden of Lewis Chapel; parents, Frank and Della Upchurch; two brothers, Granville and Frank of Fort Payne, Alabama; three sisters, Laurie Campbell of Jackson, South Carolina, Jean Murphy of Umatilla, Florida and Marcelene Lang of Houston, Texas, preceded her in death.

She is survived by nieces, Ellen Bounds of Umatilla, Rabonne Shears and Shirley Helms of N. Augusta, South Carolina and Ann Coleman of Colorado.

Funeral services were held Saturday, July 27 at First Baptist Church of Dunlap with Rev. Jeremy Byrd and Rev. Randy Harmon officiating. Burial was in Sequatchie County Memorial Gardens.
